Description:
A vulnerability has been reported in cdwrite, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to perform certain actions with escalated privileges.

The vulnerability is caused due to insecure creation of a temporary file ("/tmp/.tempfile"), which can be exploited via symlink attacks to overwrite, create, and delete files on the system with the privileges of a user invoking cdwrite.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 1.3. Other versions may also be affected.
