Description

Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Cyclonic WebMail, allowing malicious people to send SPAM anonymously and possibly view sensitive data.

Anyone can use and authenticate with Cyclonic WebMail by connecting to their POP3 mail account by specifying a different POP3 mail server. This in itself is not a vulnerability but an inappropriate feature.

However, any authenticated user can send emails, which will be passed through the internal mail server rather than the SMTP server associated with the POP3 account, effectively allowing malicious people to send SPAM anonymously.

Session IDs are accessible from the "/cyclonic4/sids/" folder. This can be exploited to hi-jack other users' sessions by replacing the session ID in the URL with that of another user.

No folders are protected by default, allowing malicious people to view the content of the configuration file, "/users/", "/logs/", and other folders. This discloses sensitive information including decoded attachments.

Solution
Protect Cyclonic with .htaccess or similar and restrict access to ensure that only users from trusted IP addresses can access the service.
