Description:
JeiAr and parag0d have reported vulnerabilities in PortalApp, IntranetApp, and ProjectApp. These can be exploited by malicious people to gain higher privileges than intended, hijack other users' accounts, and conduct Cross-Site Scripting attacks.

A malicious user can gain escalated privileges by manipulating a "hidden" form field called "accesslevel" when registering an account. This can be exploited to gain an administrative user level on an affected product.

A malicious user can manipulate information in arbitrary user accounts (e.g. change passwords) via the profile editing functionality. This can be exploited by manipulating the "hidden" form field called "user_id".

Missing validation of input supplied to the "msg" variable and certain form fields in various scripts can be exploited to conduct Cross-Site Scripting attacks against users.

It is also noted that users' authentication credentials are stored in plain text in cookies on their systems.

Solution:
Reportedly, the vendor is currently developing updated versions, which will address these issues.

Edit the source code to ensure that sensitive operations don't rely on "hidden" form fields. Also, make sure that user input is properly sanitised before being used.

Use other products.

Provided and/or discovered by:
JeiAr and parag0d.
