Description:
A vulnerability has been reported in Xsok, which potentially can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the "setlangdir()" function when handling the "LANG" environment variable. This can be exploited by setting an overly long value, which causes a buffer overflow.

Successful exploitation may grant higher privileges on systems where Xsok has been installed sgid or suid.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 1.02. Other versions may also be affected.
