Description: Matt Moore has discovered a potential security issue in Helix, which can be exploited by malicious, administrative users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) or compromise a vulnerable system.
The problem is caused due to a boundary error within the administrative interface when handling certain invalid HTTP POST requests. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow, which may crash the process or potentially allow arbitrary code execution.
Successful exploitation requires that a user can log on with administrative privileges.
The following products are affected:
* Helix Universal Server and Proxy 9
* Helix Universal Mobile Server and Proxy 10
