Description:
Dr_insane has discovered a vulnerability in SurgeFTP, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to a decoding error in the administrative web interface when processing URL encoded representations of characters in an argument. This can be exploited to crash both the interface and FTP service for about 30 seconds by sending a specially crafted request to the interface twice.

Example:
http://[victim]:7021/?%A

Successful exploitation does not require any user authentication.

The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 2.2k1 for Windows. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Update to version 2.2k13 or later.
