Zero_X has reported a vulnerability in Crob FTP Server, which can be exploited by malicious users to disclose directory information.

The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error in the handling of user input supplied to the "DIR" command. This can be exploited to disclose the content of directories outside the FTP root via a classic directory traversal attack.

Example:
dir ../../*

The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 3.5.1. Other versions may also be affected.

A Denial of Service vulnerability was also reported, which can be exploited by supplying a specially crafted directory traversal string containing a large number of dots. However, this vulnerability could not be confirmed.

Solution
Grant only access to trusted users.
