Description: George Gal has discovered a vulnerability in Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due to insecure creation of the temporary log file "/tmp/VPCServices_Log" during execution. This can be exploited via symlink attacks to gain root privileges or overwrite arbitrary files.
