Description:
iDEFENSE has reported a vulnerability in IMail Server, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the LDAP daemon ("iLDAP.exe") when handling tags in LDAP messages. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow prior to authentication by sending specially crafted LDAP messages with overly long length tags to a vulnerable system.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability has been reported in "iLDAP.exe" 3.9.15.10 included in IMail Server 8.03. However, other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Apply 8.05 Hotfix 2.
