Description: MandrakeSoft has issued updated packages for mtools. These fix a vulnerability, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to escalate their privileges.
The problem is that "mformat" is installed setuid root. This can be exploited to create arbitrary files owned by root with "666" permissions. Also local configuration files are read with root privileges.
