Description: iDEFENSE has reported a vulnerability in Borland Interbase, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due to insecure default file permissions on the "admin.ib" user database file granting all users write permissions. This can be exploited to gain database administrative privileges by adding or modifying accounts.
The vulnerability has been reported in version 7.1 for Linux. Prior versions may also be affected.
Solution: Set proper permissions on the "admin.ib" user database file.
