Description:
Ulf Harnhammar has discovered some vulnerabilities in Emil, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.

1) Boundary errors exist within the "encode_mime()", "encode_uuencode()", and "decode_uuencode()" functions when processing the filenames of attached files. These can be exploited to cause buffer overflows via specially crafted emails, which may allow execution of arbitrary code.

2) Format string errors exist in various functions when constructing error messages. The potential of these vulnerabilities has reportedly not been established and may be configuration dependent.

The vulnerabilities have been reported in versions 2.0.4, 2.0.5, and 2.1.0-beta9. Other versions may also be affected.
