Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in HP Web Jetadmin, which in combination can be exploited by malicious, authenticated users to execute arbitrary code on a vulnerable system.

1) The "devices_update_printer_fw_upload.hts" script allows arbitrary files to be uploaded to the "/plugins/hpjwja/firmware/printer" directory.

2) Input passed to the "setinclude" parameter in the "setinfo.hts" script can be exploited via directory traversal attacks to read arbitrary files on the system.

These two vulnerabilities can be exploited in combination to execute arbitrary code by uploading a malicious file and then execute it by including it with the "setinfo.hts" script.

3) It is possible to inject commands, which will be executed when the service is restarted. An example has been provided, which adds a new administrative user:

/plugins/framework/script/tree.xms?obj=httpd:WriteToFile([$__installdir$]
conf/portlisten.conf,Listen%208000%0A%0DAccessLog%20"|../../../../../../
winnt/system32/cmd.exe%20/c%20net%20user%20P%20P%20/ADD")

The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 7.5.2546 and prior.

NOTE: Successful exploitation is more critical if an Administrator hasn't password-restricted access to the product.
