Description: Luigi Auriemma has reported some vulnerabilities in IGI 2: Covert Strike, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system or vulnerable system.
1) A format string error within the logging functionality when processing RCON commands can be exploited by sending a specially crafted command containing format specifiers to the RCON service (default port 26001/UDP).
2) A format string error in the processing of player nicknames can be exploited by sending an UDP datagram with a specially crafted nickname to a vulnerable server.
3) An error in the handling of nicknames can be exploited to crash a vulnerable server by sending an UDP datagram with an overly long nickname.
4) A format string error in the clients processing of messages can be exploited by sending an UDP datagram with a specially crafted message to connected clients via the server.
The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 1.3 and prior. Other versions may also be affected.
