Description:
A vulnerability has been discovered in McAfee McFreeScan Module, which can be exploited by malicious people to gain knowledge of certain information about a user's system.

McFreeScan Module ("mcfscan.dll") is a component installed by McAfee FreeScan on a user's system the first time an online scanning is performed. The problem is that the "GetSpecialFolderLocation()" method can be exploited to disclose various information about the location of various folders on a user's system.

Rafel Ivgi also reports a buffer overflow in the original advisory. However, analysis of this issue indicates that it's actually an error when attempting to allocate additional stack space. This may therefore only be exploited to crash a user's browser.
