A vulnerability has been discovered in Helix Universal Server, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to a NULL pointer dereference error within the handling of HTTP GET requests. This can be exploited via specially crafted requests to restart and potentially disable the server if it has been started with either the "--no-crash-avoidance" or "--no-auto-restart" option.
The vulnerability reportedly affects version 9.0.2 for Linux and version 9.0.1 for Windows. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: The vulnerability has reportedly been fixed in version 9.03.
