Description: John Lampe has reported a vulnerability in Racoon, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to an error when processing certain malformed IKE messages. This can be exploited via a specially crafted IKE message with a malformed Generic Payload Header containing invalid values in the "Security Association Next Payload" field and a reserved field.
Successful exploitation causes the application to enter an infinite loop, which consumes large amounts of system resources and drops connections.
The vulnerability affects versions prior than 20040407b.
