Description: securma massine has discovered a vulnerability in Kinesphere eXchange POP3, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the handling of SMTP connections. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow by passing an overly long string (about 1025 bytes) in a "MAIL FROM:" header.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 5.0. Prior versions may also be affected.
NOTE: An exploit is available.
