Description: Alvin Alex has reported a vulnerability in SquirrelMail, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.
The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error in "compose.php" when handling input passed to the "mailbox" parameter. This can be exploited by supplying a folder name containing HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of a vulnerable website.
The vulnerability has been reported in version 1.4.2. Other versions may also be affected.
NOTE: Other unspecified cross-site scripting vulnerabilities reportedly also exist in the product.
