Description:
Evgeny Demidov has discovered a vulnerability in Heimdal, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the kadmind Kerberos version 4 support when processing Kerberos 4 compatibility administration requests. This can be exploited to cause a heap overflow by sending a specially crafted administration request to a vulnerable system.

Successful exploitation causes the service to crash and may allow execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability affects version 0.6.1 and prior.
