Solution:
Qualcomm has released version 6.1.1 which reportedly fixes the URL handling vulnerability:

http://www.eudora.com/download/

Note: According to Paul Szabo at least two vulnerabilities allowing malicious people to steal documents if a message is forwarded or to bypass the LaunchProtect "feature" are not resolved in version 6.1.1.
