Description: A vulnerability has been discovered in IBM Parallel Environment (PE), which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.
PE includes some sample code, which is used for demonstrating how to use the Network Table and Switch Table APIs. However, an unspecified vulnerability exists in the sample code, which can be exploited to execute arbitrary commands with root privileges.
The vulnerability has been reported in versions 3.2, 4.1, and 4.1.1.
