Description: A vulnerability has been discovered in eMule, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
Rafel Ivgi has published a small tool/exploit containing various tests, where some reportedly may cause a DoS.
Further analysis indicates that the vulnerability is caused due to an out-of-bounds read error within the Web Control Panel, when processing certain HTTP POST requests. This can be exploited to crash the application by sending a specially crafted POST request containing a negative value in the "Content-Length:" header.
The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 0.42g. Other versions may also be affected.
