Description:
A vulnerability has been reported in various browsers, which can be exploited by malicious people to create or truncate files on a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error within the telnet URI Handler. The problem is that "-" characters aren't filtered at the beginning of a hostname, which makes it possible to pass options to the telnet utility.

* KDE Konqueror included in KDE 3.2.2 and prior
* Mozilla Firefox 0.8
* Safari 1.2.1 (v125.1)
