Description:
HP has reported a vulnerability in HP-UX, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to manipulate the content of certain files.

The vulnerability is caused due to insecure directory permissions on systems running B6848AB GTK+ Support Libraries. The problem is that the source files are world writable, which allows any local user to modify the source.

Successful exploitation may potentially allow execution of arbitrary code with escalated privileges if new libraries were built from the manipulated source.

The vulnerability affects HP-UX B.11.00 and B.11.11 with B6848AB GTK+ Support Libraries installed.
