Description:
Marius Huse Jacobsen has reported a vulnerability in NetChat, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the HTTP service when processing GET requests. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow by supplying an overly long GET request to the service.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code with the privileges of the user running the application.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 7.3 and prior.
