Description

Janek Vind "waraxe" has reported some vulnerabilities in e107, which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose path information, conduct cross-site scripting and SQL injection attacks, and include arbitrary files.

1) It is possible to disclose the absolute path to scripts in error pages by accessing them directly.

2) Missing or insufficient input validation of various parameters in multiple PHP scripts can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site by tricking them into following a specially crafted link or visiting a malicious web site.

The following PHP scripts have been reported vulnerable:
* "LAN_407" parameter in "clock_menu.php".
* "logged name" field in the "email article to a friend".
* "logged name" field in the "submit news" feature.
* "avmsg" parameter in "usersettings.php".

3) User input passed to the "p" parameter in "secure_img_render.php" is not properly verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary scripts and files from local or remote resources.

4) User input passed to certain parameters in "content.php" and "news.php" isn't sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by inserting arbitrary SQL code.

Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled.

The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 0.615. Prior versions may also be affected.

Solution
Update to version 0.616.
