Description:
Oliver Karow has reported some vulnerabilities in Sambar Server, which can be exploited to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

Input passed to the "show" parameter in "sysadmin/system/show.asp" and the "title" parameter in "sysadmin/system/showperf.asp" isn't sanitised before being returned to the user.

This can potentially be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML or script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected system by tricking an administrative user into following a specially crafted link or visit a malicious web site.

Examples:
http://localhost/sysadmin/system/show.asp?show=<script>alert(document.domain)</script>
http://localhost/sysadmin/system/showperf.asp?area=search&title=<script>alert(document.domain)</script>

An input validation error in "sysadmin/system/showini.asp" also allows an authenticated administrator to access arbitrary files outside the application root via a directory traversal attack. This only poses a potential security issue, if the server has been configured to allow remote administration (not default setting) and administrative users have limited or no access to the system itself.

Example:
http://[victim]/sysadmin/system/showini.asp?file=\..\..\..\boot.ini

The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 6.1 Beta 2 for Windows. Other versions may also be affected.
