Description: A vulnerability has been reported in Squid, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the NTLM authentication helper function "ntlm_check_auth()" during NTLM authentication. This can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow by supplying an overly long password.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code, but requires that Squid has been compiled with the NTLM authentication helper enabled.
The vulnerability has been reported in versions 2.5.*-STABLE and 3.*-PRE.
