Description:
Donald Reid has discovered a vulnerability in Trend Micro OfficeScan, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.

The problem is that the Windows Help interface is invoked with LocalSystem privileges via the "OfficeScan Client" window when a virus is detected during real-time scanning. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary commands on a system with escalated privileges.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 5.5. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
The vendor has issued a hot fix for version 5.58.
