Description:
Fernando Sanchez has reported a vulnerability in U.S. Robotics Broadband Router 8003, which can be exploited by malicious people to gain knowledge of sensitive information.

The vulnerability is caused due to an information disclosure issue in the administrative web interface during authentication. The problem is that a supplied password is checked using a javascript, which makes it possible to gain knowledge of the valid password by viewing the page source.

Successful exploitation provides a malicious person with all the information required to access a vulnerable device.

The vulnerability has been reported in firmware releases 1.04.08 and 1.04.13. Other versions may also be affected.
