Description

Geoffrey Lee has discovered a vulnerability in Mandrakelinux, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to perform certain actions with escalated privileges.

The ksymoops-gznm script copies files to the "/tmp" directory insecurely, making it possible to overwrite or create arbitrary files via symlink attacks.

Successful exploitation allows manipulation of arbitrary files with the privileges of the person invoking the vulnerable script.
