Description: Ulf Härnhammar has reported a vulnerability in WWW-SQL, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the functionality for including files. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow by constructing a malicious web page, which passes an overly long path to the include command, and process it with WWW-SQL.
Under certain circumstances, the vulnerability may be exploited remotely, if a web page allows a user to specify the path (or part of it) to files, which should be used by the include command.
The vulnerability has been reported in version 0.5.7. Prior versions may also be affected.
