Description:
Arun Sharma has reported a vulnerability in the Linux kernel, which potentially can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain knowledge of sensitive information.

The vulnerability is caused due to an error within the context switch code. Reportedly, the problem is that only the "psr.mfh" bit is checked without checking the identity of the FPH owner, which allows a malicious program to set the MFH bit and thereby read register values of other processes.

The vulnerability only affects Linux ia64 kernels.
