Description

A security issue has been discovered in BEA WebLogic, potentially allowing unauthorised users to access affected web applications.

The problem occurs if a "<role-name>" within a "<security-constraint>" has specified a "*" as role name. WebLogic Server interprets this as any user, when in fact it should be interpreted as all roles in the web application.

This could potentially allow unauthorised users to access restricted web applications.

The issue affects WebLogic Server and WebLogic Express version 8.1 and 7.0.

Solution
Apply patches.
