Description

Tim Robbins has discovered a vulnerability in FreeBSD, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain knowledge of sensitive information or gain escalated privileges.

The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error within the handling of certain Linux system calls when running in Linux compatibility mode.

Successful exploitation allows unauthorised read/write access to kernel memory locations.
