Description:
Dr_insane has reported two vulnerabilities in Ability Mail Server, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks and cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

1) Input passed to the "errormsg" parameter isn't properly sanitised before being returned to users. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of a vulnerable site by tricking the user into visiting a malicious website or
follow a specially crafted link.

Example:
http://[host]:8000/_error?id=[id]&errormsg=[code]

2) An error in the connection handling can be exploited to consume all available CPU resources by establishing multiple, simultaneous connections to the various services (webmail, admin, and SMTP).

The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 1.18. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Upgrade to version 2.10 or later.
