Description: A security issue has been reported in ripMIME, potentially allowing malicious people to bypass filtering software.
The problem is that ripMIME fails to extract certain MIME encoded data if the MIME data contains invalid characters such as newlines. However, certain client programs such as email clients may ignore the invalid characters and continue decoding the MIME data.
This can be exploited to bypass certain email and content filtering software such as anti-virus programs.
The security issue affects versions prior to 1.3.2.3.
