Description:
Juan Manuel Pascual Escriba has reported a security issue in Oracle9i Application Server, allowing malicious local users to escalate their privileges.

The problem is that certain library files used by the setuid binary "dbsnmp" are owned by the "oracle" user. This effectively allows the "oracle" user to replace the library files with malicious versions.

This has been reported to affect Oracle9i Application Server. Other Oracle products may also be affected.

This has been rated "Not critical" because access to the "oracle" user account only should be granted to trusted users.
