Description:
Sourvivor has reported a vulnerability in Plesk, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

Input passed to the "login_name" parameter in "login_up.php3" is not sanitised before being returned to users. Example:
http://[host]:8443/login_up.php3?login_name=">[code]

The vulnerability has been reported in versions 7.0.0 and 7.1. Version 6.0 is reportedly not affected.

Solution:
The vendor has issued patches, which are available via the vendor web site and the autoupdate feature.

Provided and/or discovered by:
Sourvivor

Changelog:
2004-09-01: Vendor issues patches.
