Description

Alvaro Martinez Echevarria has reported a vulnerability in CUPS, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to insufficient validation of UDP datagrams in cupsd. This can be exploited by sending an empty UDP datagram to port 631, which can cause cupsd to stop listening on that port.


Solution
The vulnerability has been fixed in version 1.1.21rc2.
