Description: Yak has reported a vulnerability in BNC IRC proxy, which can be exploited by malicious users to spoof their identity.
The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error in the "sbuf_getmsg()" function when handling backspace characters. This can be exploited to issue commands using fake authentication credentials.
Solution: Update to version 2.8.9.
