Description: Juan C Calderon has reported a potential security issue in IBM Lotus Notes/Domino, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.
The problem is caused due to an input validation error in the native Lotus Notes HTML encoding for computed values, where specially crafted input with square brackets is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can potentially be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of a vulnerable site.
Example:
http://[victim]/FormReflectingURLValue?OpenForm&Field=[[code]]]
NOTE: Exploitation is reportedly not possible on editable fields.
The issue has been reported in version 6. Other versions may also be affected.
