Description:
Luigi Auriemma has reported a vulnerability in Secure Network Messenger, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error when handling malformed traffic. This can be exploited to cause a vulnerable service to crash by e.g. sending more than 10 linefeeds to port 6144, reconnect, and then send another linefeed.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 1.4.2. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Restrict access to the service or use another product.
