Description: Some vulnerabilities have been reported in the Private Message System module for PunBB, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks and disclose sensitive information.
1) Input passed to the "tid" parameter in "message_send.php" isn't properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of a vulnerable site.
2) The ownership of private messages isn't properly verified in "message_send.php". This can be exploited to view private messages, which belong to another user.
3) Input passed to the "pun_user[language]" parameter in include/pms/functions_navlinks.php, include/pms/profile_send.php, and include/pms/viewtopic_PM-link.php is not properly verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from local resources.
Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled. Additionally, exploitation with an arbitrary file name requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled.
Vulnerabilities #1 and #2 have been reported in version 1.1.3. Vulnerability #3 is confirmed in version 1.2.3. Other versions may also be affected.
