Beskrivelse:
Brett Moore har rapporteret en sårbarhed i Winamp, som kan udnyttes af ondsindede personer til at kompromittere en brugers system.

Sårbarheden skyldes en ikke-kontrolleret buffer i filen "IN_CDDA.dll". Dette kan udnyttes på diverse måder til at forårsage et stack-baseret buffer overflow f.eks. ved at lokke en bruger til at besøge et ondsindet website indeholdende en specielt udformet ".m3u" playlist.

Succesfuld udnyttelse gør det muligt at eksekvere vilkårlig kode.

Sårbarheden er rapporteret i version 5.05 og bekræftet i version 5.06, men tidligere versioner kan også være berørte.
