Description:
Zhaowei has reported a vulnerability in jabberd, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to boundary errors in the C2S (Client to Server) component when using mysql or pgsql for authentication. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow by supplying a specially crafted, overly long username to the server.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability has been reported in versions 2.0s2, 2.0s3, and 2.0s4. Other versions may also be affected.
