Description: A vulnerability has been reported in FreeImage, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) and potentially compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the processing of ILBM (InterLeaved BitMap) images. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow by tricking a user into viewing a specially crafted image in an application linked against the vulnerable library.
Successful exploitation crashes an affected application and may potentially allow execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability has been reported in version 3.5.0. Other versions may also be affected.
