Description

John Bissell has reported a vulnerability in WebLibs, which can be exploited by malicious people to access sensitive information.

The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error in weblibs.pl when processing data in a hidden <INPUT> tag embedded in the dynamically generated web page. This can be exploited via directory traversal attacks to read the contents of arbitrary non-executable text files on the system.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 1.0.


Solution
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised before being used.
