Description: Ariel Berkman has discovered a vulnerability in AtBas 2fax, potentially allowing malicious people to gain system access.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the "expandtabs()" function, which is used when converting txt files into tiff format. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow via a specially crafted txt document.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code, but requires that a user is tricked into converting a malicious txt document into tiff format.
The vulnerability has been reported in version 3.04. Prior versions may also be affected.
